The Berlin Police Department’s 2006-2007 budget was $5,546,108 -- a far cry from the $8,386 that was allocated for police protection in 1954.

Since 1955, the Berlin Police Department has grown from 3 constables to 41 full time officers, nine civilian dispatchers, one administrative assistant to the Chief, two records clerks, and one technical support person. The department now employs four female officers who work both in Patrol and Detective Divisions.
